Nassau

Three bets in one round.

2-4 · Individual or Team · Beginner-Friendly

The Basics

A Nassau is three separate bets: front nine, back nine, and overall 18. You can win two of three and still lose money if the margins are big enough.

How to Play

Play stroke play or match play on the front 9, back 9, and full 18 — each as its own competition. Agree on the stakes for each segment before you tee off.

Scoring

Each segment scored independently. You can win the front, lose the back, and tie the overall — that's three separate results.

Strategy Tips

The back nine bet is where rounds get interesting. If you lost the front, you're still alive for two out of three. Never give up on a Nassau.

Variations

"Automatic press" — if you're 2 down in any segment, a new bet automatically starts. This is where it gets spicy.
